Animation for 88-CRIME in Tucson, AZ

At Slater’s Garage, we work with clients across the country — literally, from Maine to San Diego. But it’s always nice to do some work for the home team, as well. Here’s a recent project we completed for 88-Crime, Inc., which is a Tucson-based crime tip hotline sponsored by the Pima County Attorney’s Office.

I started working with 88-Crime a little over a year ago, when their Board of Directors hired me to produce a couple TV commercials to air in the Tucson market. After learning about the work they do, I joined the Board myself, and have since been working on the Publicity Committee to help them tell their story in Tucson and the rest of Pima County.

Our goal with the above cartoon was to produce a piece that appeals to kids, but also something that would be memorable to audiences of all ages. Also, we wanted to get away from the typical “scary” approach that similar organizations sometimes take to their marketing, and we thought an animated spot would be a bit more unexpected and thus, more memorable. And the response has been great.

We’re always interested in meeting with other Tucson businesses, too, especially those who might be looking to revamp, tweak, or ramp up their advertising efforts. Reach out anytime. Coffee’s on me.

At Slater’s Garage Ads & Audio, we help small businesses put a unique voice to their marketing through a combination of audio, video and social media. To find out how we can help you bring your marketing to life, contact us today.

Our solution was to… Continue Reading

6 Cartoon Songs Whose Names You Probably Didn’t Know

Not unlike Jerry Seinfeld, most of my exposure to anything resembling culture has been from cartoons. Here are some classical pieces that, for most of us, are probably more well-known from their use in animated shorts over the years. 1) Powerhouse by Raymond Scott — Carl Stalling, the musical director of all those Warner Brothers… Continue Reading

Animation Solution for Education

Last year, Slater’s Garage undertook our most sizable project to date. It took just about all of 2011 to complete, and it was a huge success for us.  The Illinois Real Estate Education Foundation had initially asked us about updating their educational website, which they’d developed to teach middle- and high-schoolers about fiscal responsibility. This… Continue Reading

Ravioli Speed Dating

Just wanted to take a quick moment to thank Maple Leaf Foods, Inc. of Montreal. They selected our animated “Speed Dating” video as one of two winners of their Olivieri Pasta “Mondays Made Special” assignment, hosted by the awesome team at Poptent. I’m now able to say, unequivocally, that Slater’s Garage is an international company. … Continue Reading
