Animation for 88-CRIME in Tucson, AZ

At Slater’s Garage, we work with clients across the country — literally, from Maine to San Diego. But it’s always nice to do some work for the home team, as well. Here’s a recent project we completed for 88-Crime, Inc., which is a Tucson-based crime tip hotline sponsored by the Pima County Attorney’s Office.

I started working with 88-Crime a little over a year ago, when their Board of Directors hired me to produce a couple TV commercials to air in the Tucson market. After learning about the work they do, I joined the Board myself, and have since been working on the Publicity Committee to help them tell their story in Tucson and the rest of Pima County.

Our goal with the above cartoon was to produce a piece that appeals to kids, but also something that would be memorable to audiences of all ages. Also, we wanted to get away from the typical “scary” approach that similar organizations sometimes take to their marketing, and we thought an animated spot would be a bit more unexpected and thus, more memorable. And the response has been great.

We’re always interested in meeting with other Tucson businesses, too, especially those who might be looking to revamp, tweak, or ramp up their advertising efforts. Reach out anytime. Coffee’s on me.

At Slater’s Garage Ads & Audio, we help small businesses put a unique voice to their marketing through a combination of audio, video and social media. To find out how we can help you bring your marketing to life, contact us today.

Whiteboard Video for the Illinois Association of REALTORS®

Recently they contacted us to produce a print/video package that would help IAR members explain property taxes simply to current and future Illinois property owners. Our idea (which was a new one for us)… Continue Reading

Never Underestimate the Power of a Call-to-Action

I felt compelled to write this post after the Seahawks manhandled Peyton Manning and the Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII. Apart from Seahawks fans, most everyone I talked to was, of course, disappointed with the game, but a lot of people were disappointed with the commercials, too, which are often as entertaining as the game… Continue Reading

Client Profile: Lori Kleiman, HR Topics

We recently completed a blog/website design for the Chicago-based consulting firm HR Topics. The project began when owner Lori Kleiman contracted Slater’s Garage to videotape and edit a couple speaking engagements in Phoenix and Tucson in November. During the filming and editing process, Lori and I spoke at length about how she’d planned to use… Continue Reading

Glenn Beck Talks Advertising with BTIG Research

Glenn Beck did a great interview last week, but it wasn’t a typical Glenn Beck interview. Wherever you stand with him politically, if you’re in business, or in advertising, and you can put aside the politics, there’s a lot to learn here. Beck is a hugely successful media developer, due in no small part to… Continue Reading
